One of the main topics that Yves expreses in his work is his obesssion for "The void" and the concept of "infinity". In many ocations, he actually sold empty rooms and spaces (the nothingness) for gold. He wanted to make an impact by selling what was considered of no value (nothing) in exchange of what had the most value (gold). After the purchase, Yves threw the gold into the Seine river.
From all his work, what he is mostly known for are his pieces with "Living paintbrushes". Yves used to drench models in his famous IKB (international Klein Blue, which he legally trademarked) and directed them to create the Anthropometry of the Blue Period which has a great impact in the world to this day. His role in different artistic movements such as the Nouveau Realisme, minimalistic art and pop art infuenced the world of art and even fashion in the 2017 Céline collection.
