Beijing is one of my favorite places in the world. Its culture, architecture and food make it unique. Here are some places you can't miss!
1.- The Forbidden City
Also known as the Imperial Palace. This was the royal residence of the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
2.- The Summer Palace
The summer palace was the royal gardens where the royal famllies rested. The construction started in 1750 and it is one of the most beautiful places in Beijing.

3.- Tiananmen Square
Tiananmen Square is one of the most important landmarks in Beijing. This is where Mao Zedong proclaimes the People's Republic of China in 1949. The square contains the Monument to the People's Heroes, The Great Hall of the People, The National Museum of China and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.
4.- Temple of Heaven
This is where the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) prayed to Heaven for good harvests. It is one of the most beautiful temples in Beijing.
5.- The Silk Market
Be amazed by the endless corridors of merchandise. Salespeople speak a variety of languages from german to spanish.
6.- The Pearl Market
Get your pearls, seafood and silk in this market.
7.- Da Dong Restaurant
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Beijing. The food is delicious, try the roast duck, it is their specialty!
8.- Ming Tombs
Thirteen of the sixteen Ming emperors were buried here, so that the Ming Tombs are known in Chinese as Shisanling (Thirteen Tombs).
9.- Lao She Teahouse
This beautiful teahouse will amaze you with their amazing flavours, their traditions and their amazing tea ceremony.
10.- Wangfujing Street
This street is where you can get exotic things and specialy, exotic foods. Even if you don't feel like tying anything, witnessing the food stands is an experience itself.
